The Acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson issued a memo rescinding the department’s 2018 policy directive on “Zero Tolerance for Offenses”, issued by the previous Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Wilkinson called the policy “inconsistent with our principles.” and calls for prosecutors to make their own assessments based on a case by case basis, on whether or not to criminally charge someone.

We invite our readers to examine both the orginal memo by the office of the Attorney General under Jeff Sessions and the new memo issued by the acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson.
